The History of the Hotel

Our history FROM FAUCHON...
The story of FAUCHON began in 1886, when Auguste FAUCHON, a young Norman with a passion for quality products, decided to settle in Paris.
At just thirty years of age, and after valuable experience with Félix Potin, he embarked on a culinary adventure that would go down in history. It was in the Place de la Madeleine that he chose to open his grocery store specializing in French products.
The store expanded to include cellars, a pastry shop, a bakery and a large tea room, which in 1898 launched the famous "five o'clock tea" in Paris!
His ambition was clear: to offer Parisians exceptional products from his native Normandy. The year 1886 thus marked the beginning of the legendary FAUCHON brand, a name that would become synonymous with luxury and excellence in gastronomy.

Haussmannian-style architecturean elegant and prestigious architectural ensemble, born under the Second Empire
The union of two Haussmann buildings, Fauchon L'Hôtel Paris is a tailor-made hotel, where each room and suite asserts its own character. Sometimes bold, sometimes refined, the 54 rooms and suites are distinguished by their singularity, while sharing the same luxury and unobstructed views of a legendary Paris: Parisian rooftops, Haussmann façades, Boulevard Malesherbes, the Madeleine Church and the Eiffel Tower.
While architect Richard Martinet wrote the brief, Atelier Paluel-Marmont brought to life throughout the hotel the blend of contemporary and classic that is the hallmark of Parisian charm, resurrecting the original moldings, preserving the landing doors and contrasting the realities of a typically Parisian architecture with the house's own freedom of tone, its palette of Fauchon pink, gold, white and black colors.
Fauchon L'Hôtel Paris is also a hotel where Art is omnipresent, featuring a dozen contemporary artists ranging from Giles Miller for the mosaics in the Grand Café Fauchon, to François Mascarello's mural and Ingo Maurer's jewels in the Jardin des Thés, referring to the historic location of the Baccarat House.
