“Be The Only One” - Auguste Fauchon

Parisian life is made up of successive moments of pleasure and decadence — a culture which renowned French merchant Auguste Fauchon epitomized through the creation of a fine foods outlet on Place de la Madeleine in 1886.

Over a century of expansion and transformation, with innovation a deliberate part of its DNA, “Fauchon” has become synonymous with decadence, guilty pleasures, and magical moments of culinary brilliance. The modern-day food scene has a lot to thank Auguste Fauchon for. He was the inventor of the farm-to-city philosophy, bringing the finest ingredients direct from producers in Normandy to Paris every week with his own little truck. He designed private labels for chic gastronomy, and he was the first to offer wine cellar deliveries. Fauchon was able to acquire exotic fruits from around the world on a consistent basis thanks to a savvy partnership with Air France. Always steeped in inspired creation, Fauchon produced the first flavored teas in 1960.

Fauchon is so successful because it has always embraced bold modernization and excellence. It has always been a true innovator in the world of Pâtisserie — always at the forefront of creating something new, different, brilliant. ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN


The location is noteworthy. The architecture brilliant. It is the perfect Maison for the Fauchon legacy to enter its next phase. Situated in a historically significant Haussmanian building, Affine Designer Richard Martinet has brought the Fauchon touch to Place de la Madeleine in an entirely new way. Talented craftsmen and rising young artists including the imaginative Monika Nowak have created a bold, elegant ambiance representative of the Fauchon sophistication, style, and spirit of joie de vivre. Over a period of three years of renovation, Fauchon L'hôtel Paris brings Fauchon style and sensuality to life. Now Fauchon devotees are able to touch, taste, hear, feel, and see what it means to rendezvous a la Fauchon.
