Opéra Garnier
Paris’ Palais Garnier is most commonly known as the Paris Opera, and is generally considered to be one of the most important buildings in the city.
There are a number of mythical sites and secret spaces for you to explore at the Palais Garnier including the Bassin de la Pythie, the Grand Stairway, and the Foyer de la Danse.
Renowned artist Marc Chagall painted the gigantic canvas covering more than 200 square meters of the ceiling — be sure to look up to marvel at its expanse.
Paris’ second opera, The Bastille Opera, features more modern musical creations and contemporary dance.
The renowned play “The Phantom of the Opera” takes place in the Paris Opera, which is just a five-minute, walk from the hotel. In fact, as is written in the play, in the basement there is actually a subterranean lake accessible from the Opera, which runs under Paris.
