Musée d'Orsay

Another spot for Impressionist fans is The Musée d’Orsay, which has the largest collection of French Impressionist paintings in the world.

Major works on display include Alexandre Cabanel's The Birth of Venus, Paul Cezanne's Card Players, and Edouard Manet's Breakfast on the Grass.

But one of the features which sets this museum apart is the fact that it features a wide variety of art including paintings, graphic arts, sculpture, decorative arts, photography, and architecture with temporary exhibitions featuring literature, music, cinema, and publishing.

Originally an old train station, it was inaugurated at the 1900 World’s Fair and transformed into a museum in 1977.

Plan on a 15-minute walk from the hotel to reach The Musée d’Orsay, and, of course a Private Fauchon experience here can always be arranged.
