Comédie Française
Performances at this venue are both classical and contemporary with very high-quality daring staging.
After being created in 1680, the King of France decreed the foundation of a unique troupe which would be named "Comédiens du Roy" and later, that of "Comédie-Française". Locals refer to the theatre as “Le Français.” The true reference point for French theatre in the world, the venue features the Richelieu Room, the Théâtre du Vieux-Colombier and the Carrousel du Louvre Theater Studio, the Comédie-Française.
The troupe has been creating, staging, and performing in these same theatres for 335 years.
It is currently under the direction of Eric Ruf and is home to many of the top of French comedians including Denis Podalydès, Guillaume Gallienne, Didier Sandre, and Dominique Blanc.
A 20-minute walk from the hotel, our Guest Relations team can also arrange private car service or taxi as well as a Private Fauchon insider’s tour.
